Hello, I'm Sakshyam Sigdel
constexpr std::string_view bio { "Not your average web dev. I live in the parts of the stack where latency, reliability, and \"what happens when this box dies\" are the hard questions." };
I specialize in embedded systems, low-level optimization, and building things that run close to the metal. If it has a processor, I can probably program it.

Projects

Curtain
Won the Scalability Track at the MLH Production Engineering Hackathon (Meta-sponsored) by architecting a load-balanced web service with a resilient PostgreSQL fallback. Optimized heavy data ingestion via Redis sharding and async stream consumers. Integrated end-to-end observability and automated alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, and Discord relays.

SenseNav
Spatial audio navigation system combining LiDAR obstacle detection with 360° spatial audio feedback. Built with Arduino and custom circuitry for real-time processing. Features binaural panning, distance-based audio cues, and obstacle prioritization for enhanced accessibility.
Hand Tracking for Bionic Arm
Computer vision system for controlling a bionic arm using hand tracking. Python-based OpenCV processing with Arduino servo control for real-time gesture recognition and prosthetic manipulation.
Devpost Portfolio
Collection of hackathon projects showcasing full-stack development, AI/ML integration, and innovative solutions across multiple domains.
Research
Undergraduate Researcher — Agentic AI Systems
- â–¸Developing a Python-based agent orchestration layer to coordinate vision models (smoke/fire detection) with planning agents for autonomous UAV flight decisions.
- â–¸Designed a replayable logging pipeline for agent decision traces to enable reproducible evaluation and debugging of multi-agent workflows.
Workflow
~/.config/
- Arch Linux
- Zsh + Oh My Zsh
- Neovim (Lua config)
- Tmux
- JetBrains Mono Nerd Font
- Hyprland

This is how I actually code. No fancy desk needed—just a laptop, the floor, and pure focus. Sometimes the best code comes from the most unconventional setups.
